Chimera: Off the Top of My Head (SPOILERS) What I liked: - Scully with a sense of humor. Her call to tell Mulder about her dead body being found in that awful room, and that her last thought would be of him, was one of the best things about the ep for me. :) - The look on Mulder's face when Ellen mentioned him having a home and family. Subtle, but it said so much to me. ::applauds for DD:: Runner up: Mulder's response when Ellen asked if he had a significant other. Can we get a little more of this stuff every week? - OK, I gotta say it. Not part of the ep, of course, but I loved the trailer for "all things." I'm really looking forward to GA's writing/directing debut. :) What I didn't like: - A *ditch*??? Wait a minute, what season are we in here? If an FBI agent were called to a meeting with their boss, leaving his partner alone on a stakeout, wouldn't the appropriate thing be to TELL THE PARTNER WHERE YOU'RE GOING?!? Mulder didn't even seem to have a good reason (in his opinion, I mean ) to not tell Scully where he was going. It seemed pointless. Yes, I am steamed about this. I freely admit it. ::grumbles:: What's got me puzzled: - The raven. So... was whatever was possessing Ellen conjured in some manner, and the raven was its buddy? Or did it just show up when it sensed something bad was going to happen? Why did the raven go near the baby? - If Ellen was really the creature (is there any other conclusion we're supposed to reach, considering the cut in her shoulder?) how did it chase her and the baby through the house? Or was she seeing her own reflection? - Do roses look that nice in Vermont on Easter Sunday? That Martha sure had a green thumb. - If Ellen killed Mistress #2 while she was out... what did she do with the baby while she was busy slashing? Leave it in the car? What, and nobody saw her car at the motel? Was she naked during the attack, as she apparently was when she attacked Mulder? (I'm trying to figure out how her clothes stayed so clean.) How did she get into the motel, or into Martha's house for that matter, without leaving a trace? While I was watching, this ep struck me as some kind of a cross between Chinga and Terms of Endearment (in that I was expecting something weird to be going on with the baby). I didn't dislike this ep, but it didn't do anything special for me, either. And I don't think I'm feeling that way because it was Scully-lite. Have I mentioned already that I'm looking forward to "all things"? I think I'll be much happier with that ep. :)
